AYC Sailing School is located at Armdale Yacht Club on Halifax’s historic Northwest Arm, minutes from downtown. Our programs introduce people of all ages to sailing and help them develop their skills and knowledge in a safe, fun, and accessible environment.
Beginner, intermediate and advanced programs for all ages
- Students learn sailing skills from Sail Canada’s curriculum for youth and adults.
- Students get the opportunity to practice advanced skills and learn to race.
Anyone can register
You don’t have to be an Armdale Yacht Club member to register, however AYC members receive a 15% discount.
Junior Sailing Programs
For ages spanning 5-18, our Junior Sailing programs follow the CANSail curriculum with certified instructors. Our goal is to teach sailing skills to broad audiences in a safe, fun, and accessible environment. No matter you experience level, we have a program for you!
420 and ILCA Racing
Intended for more advanced sailors aged from 13 – 18, this program focuses on developing racing skills and tactics and other advanced sailing skills
Adult and Family Keelboating Programs
Our Adult & Family Keelboating Program is intended to introduce people to the sport of sailing by learning the basics and getting on the water in a fun and accessible format.
Broader Reach Program
The Broader Reach Sailing Program expands access to sailing in Halifax and across Nova Scotia to people who normally wouldn’t get access to sailing, or who are newcomers to Nova Scotia and Canada.
